Beer Box #27August 2022
We've packed your beer box to the max this month with 6 beers from 3 outstanding breweries. Including our first non-alcoholic (technically 0.5% ABV).
First up are 2 beers Dundee's 71 Brewing. Haze Halo is a hazy, IPA with an abundance of tropical aroma and smooth feel. And Circle and Roundabouts is a Kellerbier (from cellar beer), a German lager with a distinctive haze
.
Next up are 2 beers from the award-winning Northern Monk out of Leeds. Let's start with the outlier - the Alcohol Free Mango Lassi Heathen. This is a no alcohol version of their popular Mango Lassi Heathen, made with lactose, vanilla and mango for a sweet, smooth beer you can enjoy anytime and anywhere. And then Break the Bias - a hazy IPA developed by an all-female team at Northern Monk to benefit Young Women’s Trust, an organisation working towards achieving economic justice and a fairer working future for young women. Northern Monk is also known for their peel-back labels containing additional details and background info on their beers, so definitely give the label a full read.
And finally, 2 beers from Mourne Mountain Brewing out of Newry, Ireland. Cosmik Debris is a 4.5% Kveik Pale Ale dry hopped with Citra and Cashmere for a soft, tropical aroma. Hazy in appearance and full of hop flavour with absolutely no bitterness. And Ott IPA is a well-balanced IPA made with Citra, Ekuanot and Amarillo hops.

Starting in January, an all-female project team of Monk volunteers have developed a brand new beer for Young Women’s Trust, a feminist organisation working towards achieving economic justice and a fairer working future for young women. . With accessibility at its core, the team combined elements of two recent big-hitters, Cubitt’s Stream of Consciousness IPA and SKGN Dream Line Forms 7 on a mid-ABV, super-silky and juicy pale ale with Idaho 7, Citra, El Dorado, and Cashmere.
